About Sally's Apizza
We sauce our pies by hand, add the mootz (not too much, not too little), and cook βem until they get that just-right char on the crust. Because in the big picture, nothingβs too small to matter.
Sally's Apizza is a pizza restaurant in New Haven, Connecticut. It is listed at 237 Wooster St, New Haven, CT 06511, which places it among the local businesses of New Haven that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.
The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 AMβ9 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Sally's Apizza at (203) 624-5271; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, sallysapizza.com.

New Haven is in Connecticut, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around New Haven is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Connecticut's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Waited for almost an hour to get a seat (ultimately out on the patio, which was beautiful), and it was well worth it. The basic cheese pizza was the family favorite, some of us say the best pizza we've ever had. The tomato pie wasn't as special. But overall loved the thin and charred crust, the flavor of the sauce, and the ratio of all ingredients

Was traveling through the New Haven area and decided to try this iconic pizza place after several recommendations. Got there in the early evening on a Friday, so there was a bit of a wait but it was so worth it. Had both the White Potato & Rosemary as well as the Meats Apizza. Really liked the Meats Apizza, with the pancetta and pecorino both adding a little different dimension than your run of the mill meat lovers. I admit I had some trepidation about the he potato and rosemary, however it was absolutely amazing. Both flavors worked seamlessly and I can see why it is a favorite of locals. Finished both off with a Sally's Apilz which was pretty good. Staff was attentive even though it was super busy. Fortunate enough to find parking on their lot next to the restaurant, as on street is available but hard to get. Very much recommended.

We visited Sallyβs Apizza on a Sunday around 8 PM and ordered the New Haven Original Clam Pie and the Calabrian Stinger. The clam pie was good overall, but I wish they added a bit more sauce since it felt a little dry at times. The Calabrian Stinger, however, was excellent. I really liked the spicy kick at the end, and the honey added a nice touch of sweetness that balanced everything out. That said, it might be too spicy if you plan to eat a whole pizza by yourself! I actually thought it paired really well with the clam pie β the milder clam pizza helped calm things down before going back for another spicy slice. We also tried the Peach Mimosa, which was just so-so for me. One thing to note: we arrived close to closing time (they close at 9 PM on Sundays), and still ended up waiting about 30β40 minutes. We almost didnβt get a table, so it was definitely busy. Parking was easier than expected though β there were still a couple of spots left, and they have their own parking lot right next to the restaurant. The only downside besides the wait was that it felt very hot inside. Not sure if it was because of the weather or if the AC had been turned down since it was close to closing

We ordered rigatoni vodka, fried mozzarella, garlic bread, and three different types of pizza β and wow. We literally scraped every plate clean. Everything was unbelievably delicious. But what made the experience even more special were Nina. She is truly the sweetest person ever. Her warmth, kindness, and genuine hospitality made our day absolutely perfect. If you want real Italian flavors and an amazing atmosphere, this is the place. Hands down the best. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

Hands down the best pizza I have ever had. The fact that Sallyβs is not a perfect five star rating is a travesty. The sauce is world class, the crust has the perfect char, and every bite was unreal. The service was phenomenal too, especially if you go during off hours and avoid the long lines. I was in town for work and grabbed a few pizzas, and it was absolutely worth the trip. I even brought some home for my friends to enjoy and it reheated beautifully in the oven. Truly the best pizza of my lifetime. Thank you for the experience, Sallyβs.
